Death has robbed songbird Juliana Kanyomozi of her 11-year-old son.
Juliana Kanyomozi’s son dies
Little Keron passed away at Aga Khan Hospital in Kenya’s capital Nairobi where he had been flown for treatment, according to a social media statement by Fenon Records, to which she is signed.
“Juliana’s only son Keron just passed away at Aga Khan hospital in Nairobi. Our prayers go out to Juliana and her family at this trying time. Keron…you’re gone too soon! R.I.P,” read the post.
Earlier Juliana had posted on her Facebook wall that Keron had suffered a “severe asthma attack while at school”.
The statement read:
“My Family and I would like to inform my friends and Fans that my little Angel Keron has not been well after suffering a severe asthma attack while at school. He is currently admitted at Aga Khan Hospital Nairobi, and is getting the best medical attention. I am by his bedside 24hours. Please join us in praying for my Little Angel for his quick recovery. Thank You, Juliana”.

SUSPECTS IN THUO’S MURDER TO WAIT FOR REVIEW OF BOND

This is after the prosecution and defence lawyers made their submissions on the application by the accused seeking to have the court review its ruling which denied them bond.
Prosecution counsel Catherine Mwaniki said there is no new material placed by the accused to warrant the court to review its ruling.
Ms Mwaniki said there is a connection between the accused and the potential prosecution witnesses.
However, one of the defence lawyers Cliff Ombeta said the accused are not going to interfere with witnesses.
Mr Ombeta said there is no extent of threat given to the court and that the only connection nexus is that the witnesses and the accused might know each other.
The court heard that it has the power to review its decision and that a dangerous precedent will be set should an accused be denied bail on the grounds they know potential prosecution witnesses.
The accused are Mr Paul Wainaina Boiyo,Mr Christopher Lumbasio,Mr Andrew Karanja Ngugi,Ms Esther Ndinda Mulinge and Ms Ruth Watahi.
The have all denied the murder charge against them.
The court had on March 20 denied releasing them on bail.

'Gentle Giant' Dies After NYPD Cop Puts Him In Chokehold
A New York resident died Thursday after police officers put the man, who was asthmatic, in a chokehold before apparently slamming his head on the ground.
UPDATE: Video of Garner is exclusive to the New York Daily News, and has now been removed from this story per their request.
The New York Daily News obtained exclusive video of the incident, which shows Staten Island man Eric Garner, 43, begging officers to let him breathe as he lies on the ground helpless.
Now, his family is demanding accountability from the NYPD.
Police said Garner, who was a married father of six children, died of a heart attackduring the arrest, according to The Associated Press. The NYPD said Garner had been seen selling untaxed cigarettes, and that he had been arrested before for the same offense.
In the video, Garner denied the allegations and asked a plainclothes officer why he was stopped.
“Every time you see me you want to mess with me," Garner told cops in the video. "I’m tired of it. It stops today!”
When Garner refused to put his hands behind his back, and asked one officer not to touch him, two others moved in to make the arrest.
Video shows at least one officer putting Garner in a chokehold and slamming him on the ground.
Garner can be heard screaming "I can't breathe, I can't breathe!" before going quiet.
Multiple witnesses to the death expressed anger at the NYPD.
“They jumped him and they were choking him. He was foaming at the mouth,” 22-year-old Ramsey Orta, who took the video, told The Daily News. “And that’s it, he was done. The cops were saying, ‘No, he’s OK, he’s OK.' He wasn’t OK.”
Another witness said Garner was "absolutely not selling cigarettes," Staten Island Live reported.
Those who knew Garner described him as a "gentle giant" and "a big teddy bear," according to the publication. His family members, including his wife Esaw Garner, said her husband suffered from chronic asthma.
Police told The AP that an investigation into his death is ongoing. The NYPD said Garner "took a fighting stance" and "absolutely resisted arrest."
In 1993, then-Commisioner Ray Kelly banned the use of chokeholds by officers, the New York Times reported.
More from a 2004 NYPD Patrol Guide:
"Members of the New York City Police Department will NOT use chokeholds. A chokehold shall include, but is not limited to, any pressure to the throat or windpipe, which may prevent or hinder breathing or reduce intake of air."
At a memorial for Garner Thursday night, family members, friends, and supporters asked for justice.
"Is this cop still going to be on the force?" one woman asked SI Live. "Is this cop still going to be able to do this to somebody else?"
Community residents are attempting to organize a march on Friday.
UPDATE: Mayor Bill De Blasio has released a statement regarding the death of Garner.

ANC: Statement by Office of the ANC Chief Whip, on the situation in Gaza
The African National Congress in Parliament is extremely outraged by the wanton and unjustifiable bombardment and killings of innocent civilians, including children, in Palestinian territory of Gaza by Israel military forces. We echo the widespread condemnation of these senseless attacks on defenceless Palestinians and call on the government of Israel to immediately cease with this blatant act of criminality.
It is unacceptable that as the Israeli military is flagrantly violating the territorial integrity of Gaza, claiming hundreds of lives and injuring thousands, the United Nations Security Council fails to interve
decisively in line with its powers. The office of the UN Secretary General issues statements which have not effect. The UN Security Council must stand up and act to support vulnerable Palestinian people at the
time when they need their protection. The situation involving Palestine and Israel is an undeclared war, in which the aggressor, Israel, has destroyed the Palestinian economy, robbed people of their land,
unilaterally changed borders, and unilaterally built a wall of exclusion to keep Palestinians out of their land. When it feels provoked, it unleashes the most sophisticated military hardware on a defenceless
people. Palestinians have been reduced to cheap labour for the Israel ecionomy. This relentless destruction of the Palestinian territory and its people by Israel must be stopped. The international community needs
to act in unison on this matter.
As the ANC in Parliament, we stand unapologetically with the people of Palestine and pro-Palestinian campaigners in an endeavour to exert pressure on Israel’s government to comply with the UN Security Council resolutions and stop its killings and gross persecution of Palestinian
people. We remain resolute in our view that the only long lasting peaceful solution to the situation in the Middle East is the attainment of a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine in which the two
states exist side by side independently and peacefully.
Our strong condemnation of Israel's violent aggression, however, does not in any way mean approval of the continuing firing of rockets by Hamas into Israel, which has put the lives of innocent civilians at
risk. We echo the call by the South African government for both parties to end all forms of aggression towards one another.
The ANC in Parliament will mobilise other political formations in this institution to take a principled stand against the criminal acts of Israel and further to ensure that Parliament as an institution formally
condemns the deadly violence visited upon the people of Palestine. We will also invite other parties to the lunchtime picketing outside Parliament in support of the people of Palestine and in calling for
peace in the Middle East region. As one of the measures to put pressure on Israel, we are of a firm view that our government must recall our ambassador to Israel and also ask the Israel ambassador to South African
to leave with immediate effect.
